The Automobile Association (AA) is forecasting that petrol users are set for some month-end relief at the pumps, while other fuel users will pay more when the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy announces adjusted fuel price for June. The AA was commenting on unaudited month-end fuel price data released by the Central Energy Fund.
Formal decision on e-tolls not yet made
The Automobile Association (AA) says comments by Gauteng MEC for Transport Jacob Mamabolo on e-tolls do not amount to an official announcement on the system, and may not be considered government’s formal position on the matter.
“The system is still in force as it was previously and while we share the MEC’s sentiments that the system should be scrapped, no formal announcement that they have been scrapped has been made,” notes the AA.
AA Developing New Spare Parts Pricing Guide for Consumers
From 2021 the Automobile Association (AA) will be preparing and releasing an independent spare parts pricing guide for South African consumers. Previously the Association released this guide under the title of the AA-Kinsey Report. Moving forward, a new report will be collated and distributed solely under the banner of the Automobile Association.
