Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with IFRS and statutory requirements and supporting effective financial decision‑making across the organisation.

This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Job Description

Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packs.
  • Prepare annual financial statements for both Company and Group.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
  • Maintain general ledger, trial balance, subledgers and supporting schedules.
  • Support internal and external audits.

Budgeting and Financial Control

  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, and month‑to‑date rolling forecasts.
  • Monitor performance against budget and investigate variances.
  • Support cost‑control and efficiency initiatives.

Taxation and Statutory Submissions

  • Prepare and submit VAT, income tax and other statutory returns.
  • Maintain tax schedules and respond to tax queries.

Reconciliation and Period-End Close

  • Perform reconciliations (bank, investments, fixed assets, inventory, balance sheet accounts).
  • Prepare and review journals.
  • Own membership revenue, commission, battery revenue, owner‑driver and tow contractor reconciliations.
  • Manage intercompany schedules and ensure accurate month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close.

Accounts Payable and Receivable Oversight

  • Review and monitor AP/AR reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely clearing of reconciling items.

Internal Control and Process Improvement

  • Maintain strong internal controls.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Support automation and finance system enhancements.

Management Support and Analysis

  • Prepare reports and financial analysis for management.
  • Respond to ad‑hoc financial queries.
  • Guide and support colleagues when required.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years experience in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Financial Controller.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, internal controls and compliance.
  • Experience working with auditors.
