AA calls for more safer, regulated scholar transport
The Automobile Association (AA) has called for safer and more strictly regulated scholar transport, highlighting growing concerns about the safety of learners who rely on these services daily. The AA stressed that many scholar transport vehicles are often unroadworthy, overloaded, or driven by unqualified drivers, putting childrenβs lives at risk. It urged authorities to enforce existing regulations more consistently, ensure regular vehicle inspections, and require proper licensing and training for drivers.
Walking the Talk: AA South Africa (AA) Commits to Safer Mobility in partnership with FIA
Road safety is not just a policy priority, it is a global responsibility. The AA and FIA have long championed best practices in mobility, but our work goes beyond advocacy. We believe in turning words into action, and our partnerships demonstrate that commitment.
Through collaboration with organisations such as Global NCAP, we are actively working to ensure #SaferCarsForAfrica. These partnerships are more than symbolic; they deliver tangible results by raising safety standards, promoting crash testing, and encouraging manufacturers to prioritize the lives of drivers and passengers.
Our message is simple: road safety is a shared challenge, and we can all learn from one another. By combining advocacy with practical initiatives, the AA and FIA are showing that safer mobility is achievable when we work together.
This is how we walk the talk, by pairing vision with action, and advocacy with impact.
