Stay warm this winter knowing the AA has you covered every kilometre of the way

As the days grow shorter and the winter nights longer, we’re turning the spotlight on road safety in South Africa. From commuting in the dark to driving in the rain; from school holiday road trips to wintery weekend getaways, we understand how important it is to you to keep your loved ones safe on the road. Which is why, as an AA Member, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that we’ve got their backs, and yours.

1. Comprehensive services and benefits

Whether your car has a flat tyre or flat battery; whether you’re in a bumper bashing or a more serious accident, we make sure you’re never left without help on the side of the road. Our AA patrolmen are all about getting you back on the road quickly and without fuss. We come to you, wherever you are, to assist you with on-the-spot and easy-to-fix technical repairs, opening your car if you’ve locked your keys inside, changing a flat tyre, or giving you fuel to reach a garage if you have run out.

In a medical emergency, when speed and quality of service make all the difference, we provide 24-hour Emergency Medical Rescue for emergencies in your car, at home, at work or on holiday, and will arrange for your emergency medical transportation to the nearest appropriate medical facility. Your spouse and your dependants aged below 25 are also covered if they are travelling with you. In the event of an emergency at home, and if they are living with you, they are also covered at no additional cost.

2. Always-on peace-of-mind

No matter where you are or the nature of your roadside emergency, we are available 24/7. You can access Roadside Rescue assistance through our 24-hour emergency call centre, or via the AA App, which puts roadside rescue in the palm of your hand.

Our AA Fine Payment Assist gives you a quick, easy and hassle-free way of dealing with traffic or speeding fines that saves you time, money and stress. If you get a fine, we’ll let you know about it within days so you can get the maximum settlement discount. Where there are discrepancies in the issuing process, we’ll help you get your fine revoked, reduced or even cancelled. You’ll also get the peace-of-mind that you’re not overpaying for fines and that you can drive on the road with a clear conscience.

Avoid fines for lapsed vehicle licences and penalties for late renewals with AA Licence Renewals. This added-value service means that we’ll send you a notification 30 days before your vehicle licence expires, renew your licence for you, and deliver it to your door, at home or at work. Mixed bag of fuel prices to end off the year – AA

South African motorists can expect a mixed bag of fuel price adjustments in December. The Automobile Association (AA) says current unaudited data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF) indicate a slight reduction in petrol prices, and more substantial increases to diesel and illuminating paraffin prices. Based on the CEF’s data, ULP95 is expected to reduce by approximately five c/l, while ULP93 is set for a reduction of approximately 16c/l. Diesel is expected to increase by between 40c/l and...

Blue Light behaviour a shameful blight on SA roads

The presence of Blue Light Brigades appears to be increasing with these high-speed motorcades now an almost daily occurrence on Gauteng highways. The Automobile Association (AA) says Blue Light Brigades pose a threat to road users, particularly as drivers in the vehicles transporting politicians and behave aggressively towards other motorists. “The vicious assault on three drivers on the N1 highway in Fourways, Johannesburg in 2023 is a good example of how ‘protection officers’ in the...
