Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA)

In terms of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa everyone has the right of access to information held by the State or another person.
The Promotion of Access to Information Act No. 2 of 2000 (PAIA) is the national legislation that gives effect to this right.
In compliance with the PAIA and in terms of our commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and effective governance, the AA has compiled an information manual that outlines the procedures to be followed in requesting access to information.
