The Automobile Association (AA) expresses its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Dr Johan van Zyl who died on Friday, 30 July.
“Dr Van Zyl was a titan of the South African automotive sector who worked his way up the ranks at Toyota to eventually become President and CEO of Toyota Motor Europe, the first South African to hold this position. He worked tirelessly to innovate the automotive sector in our country, and his contribution locally and abroad was immense,” says the AA.
On behalf of its staff and Members the AA extends its condolences to Dr Van Zyl’s wife and his daughters, and their families.
“Dr Van Zyl was a leader among his peers, and his passing is a loss to us all. He was a great industry trailblazer who left an indelible mark not only at Toyota, but also on the automotive industry as a whole, and on our country,” says the Association.
